Pyrolysis is an exciting yet proven process to turn waste material (our specialist focus is on green waste such as branches, leaves, woodchip etc) into a carbon negative energy source.
The process avoids releasing carbon into the atmosphere, is self-sustaining once up and running and it's own 'waste products' are used for energy and to help repair the environment.
Melius Innovations are busy working on the next iteration of the technology to increase efficiency and allow faster roll out of these essential solutions around the UK and worldwide.

Biochar is one of the main 'waste products' from Pyrolysis and is a key part of its carbon-negative efficacy.
It is the result of the anaerobic 'burning' of the green-waste (e.g. biomass) that has been used during the Pyrolysis process and that emission-free activity leaves a soily charcoal substance that locks carbon back into the land and removes it from the atmosphere.
Applications range from Accelerated Soil Recovery (ASR), Peat Bog Restoration (PBR), Better Forestry Growth (BFG) including enhancing necessary mycorrhiza growth and recovery, and Quality River Filtration (QRF). Better for the environment, better for agriculture, better for sustainability, better for the economy and better for people.
